Facebook and other social networking platforms such as WhatsApp and Instagram are temporarily on Monday in the United States, Canada and other parts of the world, including India.
Users turned to Twitter to express their anger and report frequent disruptions across various Facebook platforms, and the social networking site blamed networking problems due to temporary disruptions.
“Earlier in the day, a network problem caused some people to have difficulty accessing social networking sites and their inability to deploy many Facebook services,” Facebook spokesman Jay Nancarrow said in a statement.
“We have quickly achieved and started to regain access, and we were solving the problem to almost everyone, and we regret the inconvenience,” he said.
The site of Down Detector specialized in monitoring the breakdown of sites and power outages, the interruption, and spread Hashtag #FacebookDown on Twitter.
